Volks Dolls Page

Volks is a company in Japan that makes figures, models and dolls.
There are plenty of good resource websites out there which can
tell you more about the amazing merchandise they produce, as well
as where to purchase some, but for anyone who has never seen a
Volks doll before, check out the ones I have below!

(please note that NONE of these dolls are for sale)

One reason so many people love Volks dolls is because they are very customizable.
You can buy the dolls with blank heads and create your own doll from scratch.
However they do have lots of tools and goodies to help out those of us who are not
too gifted in doll crafting. You can also buy complete dolls. Which usually come in very
limited editions. And can get quite expensive.

The first doll I bought was a complete
doll, but I have since sold her to get more money for my Sailormoon Collecting, priorities first you know! ^_^
But I recently bought another Volks doll called Margaret and she is the doll you see here.
She did come with her own outfit, but I thought this one looked better on her. To me, she looks as if she stepped right out of Marcia Brady's closet, This outfit has a very '70's retro look!

I wanted a couple of more Volks dolls for my collection, mainly just for the bodies
which I planned on using with my Takara Jenny heads. I wasn't willing to spend a lot
of money on more complete dolls, so I bought 2 of the customizable bodies, which came
with blank heads, and I also bought 2 pre-rooted heads, and some eye decals, and came
up with the 2 dolls here. Which I named:

Kimiko & Camille
This was my first time applying eye decals, and it took a couple of tries before they even came close to looking normal. In fact they still aren't too great, I totally messed up on Kimiko's left eye, luckily her hair falls in such a way that it conceals it. I also think her hair style gives some mystery to her character.

I did do somewhat better with Camille, but even hers are a bit slanted. Guess I'd better stick to just buying the dolls! ^_^ BTW I used a permanent color marker to give their lips and cheeks some color.

All the outfits and shoes the dolls are wearing were bought separately. And I added the stands.

The custom dolls have a wide variety if hip and bust sizes to achieve any look. But best of all is that these dolls are fully jointed, unlike any dolls I've ever seen! Even the hands and feet are replaceable.
