Takara Jenny
As I'm fairly new to the world of Jenny,
I can't go into great details about her history.
From what I understand, she started
out as a Barbie doll in Japan during the 80's
until I believe Takara lost the rights
to the line, so by changing the name
to Jenny, they were able to
continue selling the dolls.

From what I've seen, Jenny has as many
versions and friend dolls as Barbie,
and there are websites galore with info
and dolls for sale, if you want to learn more
on Jenny & co. This page is just to share the
few dolls I have in my collection.

One of the Photogenic Jenny dolls, this was
the first J.Doll I bought, mainly 'cause I
wanted a poseable doll, and this was prior to
my discovering the Volks dolls.

Friend Dolls
I tend to prefer the friend dolls more, I just find the hair color and face paint more appealing on them. So most of the dolls in my collection are actually not Jennys.

(I have changed the clothes on just about all the dolls below, which were bought separately)

s This is a Sweet Bambini Shion doll. r This is another version of the Shion doll to the left. All decked out for a Funky Valentines Day!

One thing you gotta luv about these Takara dolls are the fashions! I have no idea where you'd wear something like this, but it would be fun to own!

(I guess this is the black version of Jenny, also know as  Suntan Jenny)

Another friend of Jenny, I love how some of the dolls come painted with eyes looking off to the side! d

d Castle Marine
So far the favorite of my doll collection, this doll is from one of the many series of Jenny dolls called Castle Dolls. Each one comes in a nice display case. She definitely has one of the loveliest faces I've seen on a doll!

(don't you just love girls with sausage curls?)

Lady Marmalade?

This fashion is evidence that these dolls were intended more for collectors than children, after all, I don't think you'd ever see Barbie sporting something like this!

Boyfriend Tom
This is one of the many boyfriend dolls Jenny has.
I got one look at those way cool dreds and had to pick him up!
